The Anirangers

Story

“Thousands of years ago, a malevolent machine race visited Earth. Mankind was primitive, and were unable to defend themselves as the machines plundered and destroyed our planet.

Five special animals, imbued with unusual intelligence and compassion, rose up to defend Earth. They drove the invaders away; the machines were no match for their courage and skill. With the battle won, the animals distilled their essences into five magical medallions, so that when mankind was ready, their power may be called on once more.

And so it has been, for hundreds of generations. The medallions (now known as the Power Coins) have been lost and found, bought and sold, given and taken; but always used in the name of good.

Today, the coins rest with five young men. Five defenders, sworn to protect life and freedom. They have dubbed themselves the “Mutekiba Sentai”, the invincible fang squadron. These five protectors, these ‘animal rangers’, will defend our world from any threat!”

The Anirangers and their Abilities

The ancient coins held by each of the Anirangers have many strange powers. They form something of a symbiosis with the holder; the outward appearance of the suit will change depending on who is inside. They also have the ability to create objects and tools, again dependent on the ideas and capabilites of the human counterpart. The ‘skin’ of the Aniranger suits is almost inpenetrable, absorbing electromagnetic and kinetic energy. The helmets, too, are also almost impervious to damage.

One thing is certain, though. The coins and power within are not weapons, to be used and exploited. The true power comes from the heart of the person holding the coin. The desire to protect, to love and defend… these things are infinite. These things are creation and power, and that is where the true strength of the Anirangers lies.

AniBlack – Adam

Adam is the leader of the Anirangers. He is a leader in the true sense of the word, supporting and encouraging his friends, helping them to be the best they can be. One of the more accomplished fighters, Adam in fact detests violence. He is compassionate and kind, and hates causing pain or destruction. AniBlack cherishes all life, even the lives of his enemies, but he understands that if the Anirangers fall, the rest of our world will soon follow. He commands the power of the raccoon, the ancient coin resting in the hilt of his sword, the sacred blade Seikiba.

AniBlue – Miles

Miles is the newest recruit of the Mutekiba Sentai. He is somewhat of a reluctant hero and a loner, and normally gives the impression that he would much rather be left alone. Inside, however, beats the heart of a valiant and savage warrior. He is undisciplined in combat, but his passion usually wins over technique. The scar on his face was acquired while battling General Caliber.
He commands the spirit of the fox, and his chosen weapon is an extendable staff, dubbed the Vulpine Breaker.

AniGreen – Peter

Pete is one of the more experienced members of the team, having formed the Mutekiba Sentai, with his friend Adam, a long time ago. He is brave and trustworthy. Truly he is a gentle soul, who does not consider himself a warrior, but he will fight to the last to defend others.
He commands the spirit of the frog, and deftly weilds the Poison Arrow lance.

AniRed – Samuel

Sam is, physically, the strongest of the Anirangers. Behind the muscles and might, though, is a jovial, friendly man. He has a fantastic sense of humour, and is much smarter than he first appears, possessing a sharp, observant intellect that will often defeat an opponent before his fists do.
He commands the spirit of the echidna, and uses twin Needle Crusher nunchaku.

AniYellow – Ronald

Ron is perhaps the most mysterious of the Anirangers. He usually travels and lives alone, joining with the rest of the group only when asked (or when they happen to meet). He is stoic and aloof, a calm and efficient warrior. Silence is his friend; he rarely speaks, and prefers to stealthily observe a battle before joining in. Much like the eagle, he strikes fiercely and without warning, often from the skies.
He commands the spirit of the eagle, and weilds a pistol in battle, named Buster Talon.
